- We will be starting work on the 2022 robot within the next few weeks
New Season Workflow
- It's time to decide how we're going to approach the new design season
- Current plan: entire mech team designs 2 subsystems at a time
- More effective for meeting EE/SW/FW deadlines
- Generate the general plan for the entire rover, but only deeply design 2 systems at a time
- The feasibility of this plan is determined by the number of available designers
- Anyone can contribute to designs, the amount of responsibility you take on depends on your availability
- Everyone in a mechanism group will contribute to problem definition and research, then subtasks can be delegated
- Frequent mechanism group communication is necessary
- Don't forget about documentation! We want to remember how well this works for us

2022 Design Framework
Test Rigs
- Starting this year we will be developing test rigs to test components of our rover
- Testing can occur at all levels from individual motors to entire assemblies
- We need to develop a list of criteria for a passed test, a test procedure, and a fixture that performs the test
- Fixtures shouldn't be intense design work. All they need to do is make sure a component meets our requirements
