Rover Comms Tower / Gimbal Mount

• Set up meeting with Billy and Logan for Thurs at 7pm to talk ab comm stand and LED matrix stuff. What’s important to include in design. Questions below.

  • Need how far the antennas should be placed apart.

  • Need to know if orientation of “comm packs” (lack of formal definition) matter.

  • Need dimensions of LED Matrix board

• Found out that position of camera was best on the side of the rover. Updates are in doc.

  • Be easier to see front of rover on all missions. (avoid needing arm camera as hazard camera)

  • Most other teams have the camera on the edge

  • FOV is a non-issue

• Finalize problem statement, criteria and constraints, importance of each

• Need some guidance on what the risk is again.

• Make a few concepts for design and rank based on above.

EBox Redesign

• Filled in some criteria/constraints & design concept research on PDR doc

• Messaged Logan about component list, will discuss with him during electrical meeting tomorrow

• • Pushed a CAD model to grabcad; simple 3D printed enclosure design using mounting holes on plate

  • Minimize number of changes to related hardware

Joint Testing Plans

• Need to develop plans to measure torque output, backlash, speed, efficiency, current draw for each arm joint

• Plus verify end stop functionalities

• Will start after midterms, when odrives work

• Good for experienced members who are familiar with motor properties and motor controllers

Science Sensor Dino Mount

• Waiting for science team lead to respond to whether the DHT 22 and CO2 sensors need to be inserted into the soil or only brought near it.

• Test nut with motor to make sure it doesn't fall out
