  • Almost got scammed $1k USD trying to order the charger - we may not be able to order the selected charger due to their PayPal not working

  • Learned how the BMS connects to the battery, downloaded companion app on my phone

  • Outlined required items to purchase in order to make the connections with the battery and BMS

    • Summarized here:

 

  • Purchase the required items

  • Once they arrive, make the harnesses and connect the battery to the BMS, use companion app to see how well it works

  • Figure out how to proceed with the battery charger

  • Draft block diagram showing how all the power modules connect to the downstream devices/loads. See table below for all the devices that need to be powered for SAR

  • does not got a chance to work on any of it.

  • But take sometime to study some basics of electronic principle

  • will finish the dd-current sense by next meeting

  • start working on sop for battery charging with Farris

  • Need to start putting together a plan for wiring up the drive train and main power system and then put it into action

    • Will hopefully be filming some video for SAR in the next couple of weeks and we want the wiring ready ahead of time to prevent delays

Get the bare minimum electrical systems working for the drive train to be able to move

  • What is the bare minimum electrical system?

  • What are all the all the ways we can achieve this?

  • New requirements--Need to power:

    • Jetson - 17V, 10W-30W

    • Gimbal

      • Search up nominal voltage and current draw for gimbal motor

      • Zed2: 380mA @5V

    • Vector Nav - 5V, 250 mA

    • Anenna - 24V 1.5A

    • Pi - 5V 3A

    • What are the power requirements for each of these?

  • Encoders need 5V, mostly a current ref

    • 20mA per encoder

    • 48-5V buck

  • 48V to each motor

  • Apparently the Odrive supplies 5V to the encoders so no need for a buck

Total SAR Power Requirments

17V - 4A
5V - 380 + 250 + 3A => 4A
24V - 1.5A

  • How can this be done?

  • Need one or two people to own the assembly and testing of the science boards and work with @Ivan Lim and @Wolfgang Windholtz (Deactivated) to ensure the board is ready for competition.

  • Found two assembled boards but none of the parts if @Ivan Lim / @Wolfgang Windholtz (Deactivated) have any ideas please let me know. Otherwise we’ll just order more parts.
