Overview:
- The objective of the project
Requirements:
- 1 KM Beyond Visual Line of Sight
- Two Data Link:
- 900 Mhz emergency fallback
- 5.8 Ghz High bandwidth video and control signal communication
- Good antenna clearance
- Re-establish connection after link failed
Constraint:
- Due to limited bandwidth currently in Mech, the 5.8 Ghz directional antenna router needs to be designed in a black box solution.
Nice to have:
- link quality monitoring
- 5.8 Ghz router using AHRS to keep pointing at ground station
Interface:
- 900 Mhz USB connection to the system
- 5.8 Ghz Ethernet connection to the system
- Both transmit and receive TCP packet, which encodes the ROS2 topic
Design validation decussion
