Base Board Rev5 Design Notes
Schematic Changes:
Separating the load monitoring, voltage monitoring and outputs for all of the rails into different sheets
5V Power Distribution
Component | Current |
---|---|
Raspberry Pi | 2A |
Gimbal | ?? |
Zed2 Camera | 0.4A |
Vector Nav | 0.25A |

We currently have 4x 5V smart switches rated for 2A each and 4x 5V outputs. The plan is to supply two outputs from one 5A buck and the other from another 5A buck. Does it make sense to have terminal for each device we expect to support? or splice it later? I guess it matter on where each device is located on the rover
Output Terminals | Load Switch | Buck | Devices |
---|---|---|---|
J1 | SW1 | BUCK1 | PI |
J2 | SW2 | BUCK1 | Zed2 Camera, Gimblal, Vector Nav |
J3 | SW3 | BUCK2 | Science Reserved |
J4 | SW4 | BUCK2 | Science Rserved |
Device | Load |
---|---|
SW1 | 2A |
SW2 | ~1A |
SW3 | RESERVED |
SW4 | RESERVED |
BUCK1 | 3A |
BUCK2 | RESERVED |
Design Questions:
How much power will each of the drives need? 2.5 A?
How much current with the science system draw? 5A enough?
How many 5V terminal do we want? Where will each of the 5V loads be located?
To-Do:
