Moving from Internet Explorer to Microsoft Edge

Microsoft Edge is already installed on your Windows device. To move to Microsoft Edge, follow the steps below:

1. Open Microsoft Edge:
   Click on your Windows or Search button on your taskbar, and enter Microsoft Edge:

2. Once Edge opens, enter this address into the address bar:
   Edge://settings/importData

   Open

   

    

    

3. Select Microsoft Internet Explorer from the dropdown and choose which data you want to import by checking/unchecking the options (i.e. favorites, passwords, history, and more). When you’ve chosen everything you want to import, click the blue Import button. Please note that “Saved passwords” is left unchecked. Password standards advise that “Since there are methods of exploiting the browser cache of passwords, it is strongly recommended that the browser feature to remember passwords be disabled, especially on mobile devices.”
