Microsoft 365 email for Alumni

Most Alumni email accounts have been migrated to Microsoft 365 (M365) email. Are you an Alumnus but do not have an M365 email account? Submit a request for an account to the IST Service Desk.

Accessing your M365 mailbox

You will use your 8-character University of Waterloo username and password to log in at https://outlook.uwaterloo.ca or via your preferred mail client.

Enrol in Duo two-factor authentication (2FA)

All Alumni must enrol in the University's two-factor authentication (2FA) service, powered by Duo Security, before accessing their M365 mailbox.

2FA provides an extra layer of security to your University accounts. Verifying your identity using a second factor (like your mobile device) prevents others from accessing your accounts, even if they know your password. Enrol using the Duo Mobile App for the most secure and convenient 2FA experience.
