About this service

The University of Waterloo provides email and calendar services for staff, faculty, and graduate students. 

Current email environment

Faculty, staff, and graduate students are currently using a combination of Microsoft 365 (M365) email and Connect, a Microsoft Exchange-based system managed by IST. Visit the IST Knowledge Base for email and calendar support

Changes to email environment

Most faculty and staff have been migrated to Microsoft 365 email. Some retiree Exchange (Connect) mailboxes were migrated to Microsoft 365 in early June. The migration of alumni Connect accounts to M365 completed in October 2021.

Exchange accounts requested through Jira are normally created in one business day.
