Configure on mobile devices
Mobile devices such as BlackBerry, Apple, Android, and others change very quickly. Android devices can have different experiences depending on the particular implementation. As such we provide documentation on a best efforts basis and encourage you to read the vendor's documentation for the particulars of your specific device and software versions.
Mobile Devices with Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync
Apple devices
From the "Settings" application, choose Passwords & Accounts
On the "Add Account" screen, select Microsoft Exchange
On the "Exchange setup" screen, enter the following and select "Next": (Note: username is your 8-character username, e.g. j25rober)
Email: username@uwaterloo.ca
Description:Â Anything you wish
When it asks "Sign in to your "uwaterloo.ca" Exchange account using Microsoft?" select Sign In
Password: your password
In the Server field:Â connect.uwaterloo.ca
In the Domain field:Â nexus
In the username field: username
Your device will now verify your Exchange account settings
Tap the Save or Done
Android devices

Microsoft Exchange ActiveSyncÂ
You will need to enter the following information to set up your email account: (Note: username is your 8-character username, e.g. j25rober)
Email Address: username@uwaterloo.ca
Domain\Username: nexus\username@uwaterloo.ca
Password: your password
Server Address:Â connect.uwaterloo.ca
Follow the screen instructions. You will need to tap OK a couple of times and tap Activate at the end.
BlackBerry Android devices
Add an email account to the BlackBerry Hub: (Note: username is your 8-character UWaterloo username, e.g. j25rober)
In the BlackBerry Hub+ Inbox, tapÂ
then tap
beside Accounts.
Enter your username @ uwaterloo.ca
Tap Manual setup
Tap Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync
Enter http://outlook.office365.com in Server fieldÂ
Tap X beside the password field
Tap + beside the Add authenticationÂ
Tap Sign in with Microsoft button
Enter your password
Do 2FA steps (send me a push, etc)
On the Account Setup Screen tap Next
Tap OK (for Remote security administration)
Choose the options you want for remote security admin and then Tap Next
Tap OK
Tap Activate
Tap DoneÂ
Tap OK
Tap Activate (scroll down to advanced)
Note: If a Device Administrator screen appears, tap Activate or Allow.
If you already have a UWaterloo email account on the Hub you will need to remove and then re-add the account to the hub following above steps.

BlackBerry OS 10
On the device, swipe from the top and go to:
Settings
Accounts
Add Account (Note: username is your 8-character username, e.g. j25rober)
At the bottom > go to Advanced, and select Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync
Description - can be anything you want
Domain =Â nexus
Username: username
Email Address: username@uwaterloo.ca
Password – your password
Server Address:Â Â connect.uwaterloo.ca
Next > Done
Mobile devices without ActiveSync - use Exchange IMAP settings (e.g. Gmail)
The settings are as follows:
