Configure Mac Mail
Note: Before you begin with Mac Mail:
Please be sure that the Mail Routing Address listed in Watiam displays the full Exchange server email address similar to username@connect.uwaterloo.ca (e.g. j25rober@connect.uwaterloo.ca). If this is not the email address listed, contact the IST Service Desk to update this or set an inbox rule to forward all messages to this Exchange server address.
Tip: To check the email address listed on your Watiam account using your 8-character username (e.g. j25rober@uwaterloo.ca) and password. Next, click on Manage Email Settings and look at the email under Mail Routing Address
If you are using the Mail client that comes with 10.5.x, there is a reasonably Exchange friendly ‘setup wizard’ when you create a new account. System 10.6 promises full exchange compatibility, including calendar and connecting to the Global Access List. Do a “Software update” on the Mac before anything else to ensure the latest versions of the software are being used.
