Teams Involved: Science and Mechanical

  • Nearing end of August, science will have design requirements for mechanical

  • Looking at it in the CAD

    • Belts not a loop, a line, so they'd connect with tensioning that didn't work and got caught on things

    • One of the 3D printed parts was so small nothing would get in

      • Particle size is a big problem

    • Geneva drive issues

      • Shaking from Geneva mechanism was enough to mix things up

        • Removing Geneva might mean a new method to mix things up.

          • Maybe a Scara arm?

  • Add a new camera

  • Teams had ways to isolate what was touching different samples, different shovels, etc

    • Take a look at how to reduce cross contamination

  • Figure out how the shovel/dirt collection/auger work

  • Ask Mathieu for timeline, when this should be finished

  • Do we have the resources for a design change
