Impersonating the test student

To see your course from a student’s perspective, you can impersonate the test student in your course. While impersonating the test student you can post to a discussion, take a quiz, submit to a dropbox and then, as yourself, go back and grade those items to ensure that everything is working as expected.

 

  1. Click Connect from the course navbar.

  2. Click Classlist from the menu.

  3. Click on the Test Student tab.

  4. Click on the down arrow to the right of the test student's name in the classlist and click Impersonate.

  5. A confirmation pop-up window will appear, click Yes to begin impersonating the student.

  6. To confirm that you are impersonating the test student, look at the top right-hand corner of the LEARN page. You should see Test Student where your name normally appears.

  7. To Stop impersonating the test student, click on the Test Student’s name in the top right-hand corner of the LEARN page.

  8. Click the X to the right of the test student’s name to end the impersonation and return to your view of the course.
