Task Description

Design a mount for 2 limit switches (1 at 0 degrees (12 O’Clock), 1 at 90 degrees that attach to the axis 2 testing jig to be used for actuator characterization test.

the red rectangle would be where one of the limit switches would be, the other would be 90 degrees from it. The bolt is what will be used to trigger the limit switches

Constraints:

  • Must be 3D printable, for sake of time and purpose of use

  • must not interfere with motion of the jig (has to be out of the way from the metal bar)

  • must be mounted to the Jig

  • Must not be blocking the wire coming out of the encoder

  • Must be close enough to the bolt for it to be triggered

Bonus Task: Work with the controls ppl (Billy) to see how the limit switches are used in the controller side

Task Breakdown

Look at data sheet (DFROBOT #FIT0658) for the limit switches and what is needed for it to operate
Get rough dimensions from the A2 testing Jig
Hand draw some ideas (with important dimensions) for how you want to mount the switches, go over designs with @Yu-Ming He or @Saheed Quadri
CAD in solidworks, 3D print, try it out, make iterations if needed
