Moving content from a OneNote Notebook
Â
OneNote notebooks are stored separately from OneDrive, so they don't get moved over properly by Mover.io. To properly transfer your OneNote content, use the following guide.
WebApp (Save as PDF Only)
If you no longer need to change the notes, the best option would be to save the document as a PDF, so that you can review the notes as needed. This tends to work best from the web app.
Go to: microsoft365.com  and log in with your 8-character username@eduuwaterloo.onmicrosoft.com and password.
Choose File, then Print
Select a PDF printer (Microsoft Print to PDF, or similar)
Adjust the page size to fit all of your notes
Click Print and choose a location to save your note
You can then upload the saved PDF to your student OneDrive if you wish.Â
Windows
These instructions do not apply to files saved using the OneNote for Windows 10 app. For a step-by-step guide to move these Notebooks, follow the steps listed here: How to export a OneNote notebook
Go to: microsoft365.com and log in with your 8-character username@eduuwaterloo.onmicrosoft.com and password.
Go to File > Export > Notebook > OneNote Package > Export
Save the file locally on your computer anywhere you’d like. Complete this step for all the notebooks you want to move.Â
Switch accounts: File > Account > Switch account > Sign in with a different account > sign in with your 8-character username @uwaterloo.ca (e.g. myuserna@uwaterloo.ca)Â
Open the notebook: File > Open >Â Browse, change the dropdown at the bottom of the window from 'OneNote Table of Contents' to 'All files'Â then navigate to where you saved the notebooks and click on them to open them.Â
Choose a name and a location
Save it online by selecting File > Share > OneDrive - University of Waterloo Â
Log in online to microsoft365.com with your 8-character username @uwaterloo.ca (e.g. myuserna@uwaterloo.ca) account to ensure that it has been properly uploaded. You can find them under your OneDrive account.Â
Mac
In the OneNote app, sign in with your 8-character username@eduuwaterloo.onmicrosoft.com (e.g. myuserna@eduuwaterloo.onmicrosoft.com) account
Open all the notebooks that you would like to copy over
Sign out and sign in again with your 8-character username@uwaterloo.ca account. Do not close any notebooks at this time.
Create a new notebook in your username@uwaterloo.ca account with the same name as the notebook you want to copy
For each section in the notebook, right-click on the section and choose 'Copy section to...' then choose the new notebook in your @uwaterloo.ca account.
6. If the above steps do not work, you can copy and paste the content into a new notebook in your new @uwaterloo.ca account.
