Display settings for in-room presentations
When using a Mac
Connect your Mac to the presentation environment:
Connect the HDMI cable
If your presentation includes audio or you are presenting to an online audience, you will need to connect the USB cable for the video and audio connection
Set the display preferences to “Mirror”, not “Use As Separate Display”. When you start a PowerPoint slideshow, PowerPoint will create a second/virtual display that will show on the in-room projector/screen and that you can share within Teams/Zoom/Webex for an online audience
Start your PowerPoint slideshow. Your Mac should show Presenter view while the projector/screen shows the full slide
If sharing in Teams, Zoom, Webex or Using Ditto wireless screen mirroring, share the screen that shows the full slide view (not speaker notes) after you have started your slideshow.
When using Windows
Hold down the Windows key and then the P key (-P) to display the Project menu. You can then choose either Duplicate (Mirror) or Extend depending upon your preference.
Use Extend when you have a PowerPoint presentation and you want to see Speaker Notes while showing the slides to those in the room and/or online
Duplicate is good for in-room meetings where you want to show your entire desktop and do not need PowerPoint speaker notes. It’s also the best choice when hosting online meetings from your computer where there are no presentations and you simply want to see the online participants in the room.
If sharing in Teams, Zoom, Webex or Using Ditto wireless screen mirroring, share the screen that shows the full slide view (not speaker notes) after you have started your slideshow.
For both Mac and Windows
To get back to Teams/Zoom/Webex/Using Ditto wireless screen mirroringto start sharing after you have started your slideshow:
