Connect your computer to the displays

Using AirMedia, you can wirelessly connect to the room's display (TV or projector) from your Mac and Windows laptops. The following rooms are equipped with Creston AirMedia wireless presentation:

  • EV1 221
  • EV1 353
  • EV3 4222
  • EV3 4268


 Creston AirMedia
  1. Make sure your laptop is connected to "eduroam".
  2. Using the display's remote control, turn the display and change the input/source until you see the following screen:
  3. On your laptop, launch a web browser. In the URL bar type in the IP address shown on the display.
  4. When the Creston AirMedia window appears on your screen, download the AirMedia client for your laptop.


    1. Windows: Choose "Run" to download.
    2. Mac: Double-click on the AirMedia disk image and then double-click on the AirMedia icon.
  5. Enter the code as shown on the top-right of the display.
    1. Note: The code will change at every session.
  6. You are now ready to show your presentation. When finished, disconnect from AirMedia:
  7. Please turn off the display.


Do you require sound? On Windows computers, the sound is available by default. On Mac computers, you need to install an extra application. Simply Google "Soundflower" and install the application. You may be required to change your security settings to allow the application to install.

  1. Turn on the TV and laptop.
  2. Connect your Mac with the VGA cable or the HDMI cable that has been provided in the room.

Note: You may need to borrow an adapter from the MAD Help Desk located in Environment 2 (EV2) 1008.

Using the VGA cable

  1. Connect the adapter to your Mac and the VGA cable to the adapter.
  2. To enable sound, connect second wire to headphone port.
  3. On the right-hand size of the TV, change TV input source (  ) to "PC".
  4. Click menu bar icon (  ), select "Turn to Mirroring" and change resolution to the highest option.

Using the HDMI cable

  1. Connect the adapter to your Mac.
  2. Connect cable to adapter.
  3. On the right-hand side of the TV, change TV input source (  ) to "HDMI 2".

  4. Click menu bar icon (  ), select "Turn to Mirroring" and change resolution to the highest option.

  1. Turn on the TV and laptop.
  2. Connect your Windows with the VGA cable or the HDMI cable that has been provided in the room.

Using the VGA cable

  1. To enable sound, connect second wire to headphone port.
  2. On the right-hand side of the TV, change TV input source (  ) to "PC".
  3. Hold Windows key (  ) + P.
  4. Select "Duplicate" with arrow keys, press Enter.

Using the HDMI cable

  1. On the right-hand side of the TV, change TV input source (  ) to "HDMI 2".
  2. Hold Windows key (  ) + P.
  3. Select "Duplicate" with arrow keys, press Enter.
