Set user code for colour printing at departmental printers

Notes:

  • User Code printing authentication is enabled for PLAN and SEED only.

  • These instructions are for staff members, as only staff members can print in colour.

  1. Press the Windows key, and search for “Printers & scanners”.

  2. Select your departmental printer.

  3. Select “Printing preferences”.

  4. Under the “Basic” tab, select “User Code Setting…” on the top right.

  5. Enter your 4-digit user code, and click OK.

  6. Click Apply, and OK.

  1. Open a Word document, click on File, and then Print.

  2. Scroll down and click on Printer Options, and then Job Log.

  3. Check “Enable User Code”, enter your 4-digit user code, and click OK.

  4. Scroll up to Presets, and change the selection to “Save Current Settings as Preset...”.

  5. Set the Preset Name to “User Code”, and click OK.

  6. Ensure that the Presets is set to “User Code” before printing.
