How to create Important dates (WCMS 2)
Important dates is a content type that allows users to add dates to the central Important dates site, and push this calendar out to their department's or group's site.
When pushed to sites, the Important dates calendar will appear in the main menu under the link title Important dates.
There are two roles available for Important dates:
Content editor (to create and edit dates within their Content access group(s)).
Site manager (to configure Important dates and assign users to roles).
Note: In order to create and edit content, Site managers require the Content editor role, and must be assigned to a Content access group.
How to create an Important date
Select My Workbench under the black Administration bar.
Select the Create/Manage Content tab.
Select Important dates.
Click Add Important dates.
From the drop-down, select the Content access group for this piece of content.Note: You may only be part of one Content access group.
Enter the Title of the Important date.
Select the appropriate Academic year. Site managers are able to add new Academic years via Dashboard under Vocabularies.
Select the Type (optional). Site managers are able to add new Academic years via Dashboard under Vocabularies.
Add a Description (optional).
Enter the Important date details.
Select the Academic term this date will fall within (fall, winter, spring).
Select the Details drop-down to add the Date. Optionally, select Show End date, add an End date, and add Special notes.
Note: Important dates with a Special note will include an asterisk (*) next to the title in the calendar view.
Note: More than one Important date can be added here if creating a series.

Select the Site(s) to push to.
Note: You may only have authority for one site.
Select your Audience term (optional). Site managers are able to add new Audience terms via Dashboard under Vocabularies.
Add relevant Keywords. Keywords can be added in order to help search functionality when viewing the calendar or list view. Begin to type in a keyword and select from the drop-down list. Site managers are able to add new Keywords via Dashboard under Vocabularies.
Save.
Publish.
Your Important dates will appear on both the central Important dates site and your department's or group's site. Toggle between the filters to see a list view and to export the calendar dates.
Note: Archived important dates can only be found under the List view.

Select an important date to see more information. Optionally, export that date into your email calendar.
