Adobe Connect on mobile devices

Adobe Connect functions with limited features on various mobile devices. While some features may be accessible via the browser on the device, others may require the Adobe Connect Mobile application.

All Devices

Viewing Recordings

Recordings cannot be viewed from any mobile devices, either from summit.uwaterloo.caLEARN, or the mobile application.

Functions

All Adobe Connect Mobile applications have limited functionality. The functions are accessed through the sidebar in the mobile application. Users can end and log out of meetings from the sidebar as well.

The following functions are available on all supported mobile devices:

  • Sharing a recently uploaded PowerPoint.

  • Notes pod.

  • Chat pod.

  • Asking a question in the Q&A pod.

  • Responding to polls.

  • Changing a users’ role in a meeting.

  • Removing a user from a meeting.

  • Enabling webcam and audio rights.

  • Participate in breakout rooms.

  • Approving guests for entry.

The following functions are not available on any of the mobile device applications:

  • Hiding pods/adding pods.

  • Web link pod.

  • Files pod.

  • Sharing the screen.

  • Changing the poll question.

  • Answering questions in the Q&A pod.

  • Creating or deleting meetings.

  • Managing meeting access and entry.

  • Starting breakout rooms.

  • Presenter only area.

  • Edit my info in the attendees pod.

All devices allow meetings to be created and deleted in the browser on either summit.uwaterloo.ca or LEARN. Also, recordings can be made public in the browser through LEARN.

No devices allow for participants to be edited, reports to be created, or viewing the calendar in summit.uwaterloo.ca. Recordings cannot be made offline or edited on all mobile devices.

iPad

Joining a Meeting

Users can enter the meeting from the Adobe Connect mobile app with the link to the meeting. Also, users can enter from summit.uwaterloo.ca and LEARN.

Pop-up blocker must be disabled. From summit.uwaterloo.ca, click on the meeting link, and from LEARN click the Join button. On the following screen, either download the Adobe Connect application, or open the application. Click next and log into Adobe connect.

Functions

The following functions are also enabled on Adobe Connect meetings for iPad:

  • Sharing a whiteboard.

  • Sharing content from My Content and shared content on summit.uwaterloo.ca.

  • Sharing photos from the local photo roll.

  • Drawing on the share pod.

  • Starting recordings.

  • Setting a status.

  • Changing between preset layouts.

Android tablets

Joining a Meeting

Users can enter the meeting from the Adobe Connect mobile app with the link. Also, users can enter from summit.uwaterloo.ca and LEARN.

From summit.uwaterloo.ca click on the meeting link. From LEARN click on the Join button. Pop-up blocker must be disabled. If the Adobe Connect application is not installed, the user will be prompted to install it. Otherwise, the application will launch and open the meeting. Click next and log into Adobe Connect.

Functions

The following functions are also enabled on Adobe Connect meetings for Android:

  • Sharing a whiteboard.

  • Sharing content from My Content and shared content on summit.uwaterloo.ca.

  • Sharing photos from the local photo roll.

  • Sharing local files.

  • Drawing on the share pod.

  • Starting recordings.

  • Setting a status.

  • Changing between preset layouts.

BlackBerry PlayBook

Joining a Meeting

Users must enter meetings directly from the Adobe Connect Mobile app with a link. Users cannot join meetings in the browser from summit.uwaterloo.ca or LEARN integration. The link must be sent out by the instructor to the students. The link can be found on summit.uwaterloo.ca.

Disabled Functions

The following functions are not enabled on Adobe Connect meetings for BlackBerry PlayBook:

  • Sharing a whiteboard.

  • Drawing on the share pod.

  • Starting a recording.

  • Setting a status.

  • Changing the layout.
