Content activity reports

This tool allows you to view students' activity in the course. You can see what content items users have visited and the average amount of time spent on content items.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Click on Content in the course navbar.

  2. Click on Table of Contents.

  3. Click on Related Tools and choose View Reports from the list of options.

Table of Contents page in Course Content. Table of Contents on left panel highlighted and 'View Reports' From Related Tools drop down highlighted
  4. Under the Content tab, you can see each content item, the number of users who have visited it and the average time spent on the content. Under the Available To or Users Visited columns you can click on the number to view more detailed information about the users who visited the content item such as how many times they visited it, the total time spent, when they last visited it, and the average time they spent.

Numbers under Available To and Users Visited column highlighted. Export Statistics and Reset Statistics buttons highlighted.
    • Export Statistics allows you to export the information into an Excel spreadsheet.

    • Reset Statistics allows you to reset the data.

Average Time Spent data should be interpreted with caution. It may not accurately represent the true amount of time users have spent on the content. If a user opens a topic and then closes the browser with it open, the time calculation will remain active. Additionally, if users choose to download content instead of view it in LEARN the true amount of time spent on the content cannot be calculated.

To view activity for individual users click the Users tab to see how many content topics a user has visited.
