Clone

In WCMS 3 you can clone web pages. The following steps outline how to clone a webpage.

After cloning and publishing the cloned page, do NOT delete the source (original) page. Unpublish or archive it instead of deleting. There is a current WCMS issue that affects the content on cloned pages if the source page is deleted.

Cloning a web page

  1. From the Administration bar, select Workbench, then select My Dashboard.

  2. Under Content list, select the web page you would like to clone.

  3. From the Web page tabs, select Clone

  4. Change the Title and Description of content of the cloned page to reflect the content of your new page.

  5. Change the URL of your new page or generate an automatic one by selecting Generate automatic URL alias.

    • Note: If the title has been changed and is now unique within the site, you can check Generate automatic URL alias on your new page. Having two pages with the exact same title will break the link of the latter page created and result in a “-0” appearing at the end of the URL.

  6. Select Save.
