Receiving a fax
IST provides a fax service for faculty and staff to send and receive faxes without having a dedicated fax phone line.
You can receive a fax in a number of different ways:
IST central fax service
Have the fax sent to 519-888-4380 with a cover page, and clearly indicating the name and email of the intended recipient
this will trigger an incoming email to tsfax@uwaterloo.ca
Telephone Services will forward the fax from tsfax@uwaterloo.ca email based on the recipient information provided.
it is recommended that you alert Telephone Services via tsfax@uwaterloo.ca if you are expecting a document
be sure to check the sender is tsfax@uwaterloo.ca before opening any fax.
**If you are not expecting a fax, do not open the email attachment. Follow these steps to report the suspicious email.**
 A Department fax number
Have a fax number that can be directed to a dedicated email address or department fax machine
Please check with your department administrator for the fax number and instructions
If you require a dedicated fax line or would like a fax line configured to email please have your department administrator submit a request ticket to enable this service.Â
Department Ricoh printer
Receive/print a fax on a department Ricoh printer that has been configured to receive faxes
Please check with your department administrator for the fax number and instructions
