How to Start/Stop Transcriptions During a Recorded Teams Meeting

When recording a meeting in Teams, the default settings will cause a transcription to be created as well. If you don’t want a transcription to be created, use the Stop Transcriptions instructions below.

  1. Click More [with triple dots].

     

  2. Scroll down in the list that appears and click Stop Transcription.

     

  3. In the Transcript section, it should now say [Your name] stopped transcription.

If you stop transcriptions from being created but change your mind and would like them, use the instructions below to start them up again.

  1. Click More [with triple dots].

     

  2. Scroll down in the list that appears and click Start Transcription.

     

  3. You may get a pop-up which asks which language is primarily spoken by the people in the meeting. Choose a language using the drop-down and click Confirm.

     

  4. In the Transcript section, it should now say [Your name] started transcription.
