Scholar site embeds

Scholar is currently unavailable. We hope to have an update soon.

The Twitter widget can be embedded on the homepage or the sidebar of the homepage.

Note: The Twitter widget is restricted to the administrator role.


  1. From the Administration toolbar, click Homepage settings.

  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page and locate the Twitter field.

    1. Enter your Twitter username.

    2. Select a Twitter type, the embed location of the Twitter widget.

If you select both Home page and Sidebar, the Twitter widget will appear in only the body of the homepage, and not the sidebar of the homepage.

  1. Click Save.

Vimeo videos can be embedded within your page content.


  1. Copy the embed code from the Vimeo video you want to include on your page.

  2. Navigate to the WYSIWYG editor for the piece of content where you will embed the Vimeo video.

  3. Select the Media browser button in the toolbar.

  4. A pop up form will appear. At the top, select the Embed from the web tab.

  5. Paste the embed code in the box.

  6. Click Submit at the bottom of the form.

  7. If necessary, make changes to the filename, descriptive text, or caption and Save.

  8. At the bottom of the content editor, click Save to apply the changes.

  1. On the Tint website, copy the embed code from the Tint widget.

  2. On your UWaterloo Scholar site, click Media Browser icon from the toolbar.

  3. Click Embed from the web.

  4. Paste Embed code.

  5. Click Submit.

  6. Change Name of file (optional).

  7. Click Save.

  1. Copy the embed code from the YouTube video you want to embed on your page. 

  2. Navigate to the WYSIWYG editor for the piece of content where you will embed the YouTube video.

  3. Select the Media browser button in the toolbar.

  4. A pop up form will appear. At the top, select the Embed from the web tab.

  5. Paste the embed code in the box.

  6. Click Submit at the bottom of the form.

  7. If necessary, make changes to the filename, descriptive text, or caption and click Save.

  8. At the bottom of the content editor, click Save to apply the changes.
