Block ID

Block ID is an optional setting that is used to support an anchor link to a block. For example, entering "feature" lets you link directly to that block by adding "#feature" to the end of the URL. See How to add/link to anchors to learn how to link to anchors.

Add a Block ID

1. From the administration bar, select Workbench, and then select My Dashboard.

2. Navigate to the Content list panel and select the content you would like to edit.

3. Select the Layout tab.

4. Select +Add block, if applicable.

5. Hover and select the Pencil icon and Configure in the top right corner of the Block.

6. Navigate to Block ID.

7. Enter the name that will be associated with that block. 

8. Select Update or Add block.

9. Select state from the Change to: drop-down menu.

10. Select Save layout.

Note: Block IDs should start with a letter, may only contain letters, numbers, underscores, hyphens, and periods, and should be unique on the page. A Block ID can also be added during the initial creation of a block.
