Claiming a new identity (username) - Employee

Incoming Staff/Faculty

  1.  Once Human Resources has processed your paperwork, you should receive an email with the subject line Invitation email to claim your WatIAM username. It will look similar to this and it includes two links.

2.

a. If you have an existing WatIAM identity: (e.g. if you are/were a student, alumni, visitor or former employee)

  • Use the first link provided in the email. You will then need to sign in with your current WatIAM username and password.

    OR

 b) If you do not have an existing WatIAM identity:

  • Use the second link provided in the email.

  3. You will then be asked to set up your password and password recovery email.

4. You will be assigned your username.

Please make sure to save and remember this username and your password

If you accidentally created a duplicate account by using the second link when you already have an account before, please contact the IST Service Desk to get those merged.

If you forget the username, you may go to https://watiam.uwaterloo.ca and then use the “Forgotten Username” function to retrieve it.

If you forget your password, you may go to https://watiam.uwaterloo.ca and then use the “Forgotten Password” function to retrieve it.
