Out of the box, the ROG STRIX X670E-F motherboard exhibits unstable behaviors when installing Ubuntu Server, either on host or as VM. This seems to be related to the IOMMU grouping. Perplexity.ai indicates:

In order to prevent this issue from happening, system performance can be limited:
Update the BIOS to version 2403.
In the BIOS:
Disable Core Performance Boost. Go to Advanced settings → Ai Tweaker. Set Core Performance Boost to Disabled.
Disable Precision Boost Overdrive. Go to Advanced settings → Ai Tweaker. Open Precision Boost Overdrive. Set Precision Boost Overdrive to Disabled.
