This guide explains how to connect and print to on campus Ricoh printers using the campus VPN.

\uD83D\uDCD8 Instructions

Setup campus vpn, you’ll need to setup a profile if you would like to print off campus. You will not need the VPN if you are printing from a mobile device ON campus.

  1. Follow the following guide to setup on campus vpn for iOS Connecting to the VPN on iOS - IST Knowledge Base - Confluence (atlassian.net) NOTE: The url mentioned in this guide is incorrect, I’ve notified Netzach and he’ll create a ticket to get it updated. Use cn-vpn.uwaterloo.ca for the server settings.

  2. You need to enable your VPN profile before printing, select the appropriate profile based on your location.

  1. On your mobile device go to the app store and download the “Ricoh Smart Device Connector” app.

      1. Set the following permissions for Android

  2. Open the application, locate the MFP / Printer section and tap the “Connect with QR Code” link

  4. Tap on “Add Machine”

  5. Tap “Add by IP Address / Host Name”

  6. Enter the IP Address of the printer

  7. After locating the printer tap “Register” at the bottom of the screen

  8. You can now print to the printer

  9. How to print from a mobile browser, open the tab menu for the page and tap “Share”

  10. On the share menu tap “Print”

  11. On the print dialog tap the share button again

  12. Tap “More”

  13. Scroll until you locate the “Connector” app

  14. Once in the connector app select the print option at the bottom

  15. You can now change print options, tap “Start” to print the page

    Printing from Photos on iPad and iPhone:

  16. (FOR IPAD) Go to desired photo in camera roll and select the share button (square with arrow) then select “print” from the option menu that comes up:

19. From the print menu press the share button again (square with arrow) and select the RICOH app from the app options:

20. You will be taken to the RICOH printing app and from there you can print your photo:

21. (FOR IPHONE) Go to desired photo in camera roll and select the share button (square with arrow) then select “save to files” on the option menu that shows up:

  1. Select “On My iPhone” and then select save. Once saved please go to the files app.

  2. In the “files” app select the desired file then press the share button and select the RICOH app from the app options:

  1. Print your photo in the RICOH app.
