Content teaser

Content teasers can be used to feature specific content on a page. Depending on the selected content type, the teaser displays things like the title, date/time, summary, audience terms, and listing images. For more information on the block, visit Content teaser in our Block library.

Create a Content teaser

  1. From the administration bar, select Workbench, then select My Dashboard.

  2. Navigate to the Content list and select the content you would like to edit.

  3. Select the Layout tab.

  4. Select + Add section, if applicable. 

  5. Select + Add block.

  6. Under Choose a block, navigate to Teasers and select Content teaser.

  7. If desired, enter a title. By default, the block title is Content teaser. The title will appear as a block header if Display title is selected.

  8. Select Heading level.

    • Note: Headings must be used in sequence and cannot be skipped (i.e. H1, H2, H3, H2 and cannot be H1, H3, H5). Headings are necessary for accessible content.

  9. Select a Type of content.

Blog post teasers can be used to feature a specific Blog post on a page. The teaser displays the title, date, summary, as well as any audience terms and listing images. When selected, the teaser will bring users to the specific Blog post's page.

To create a Blog post, review the instructions on How to create a Blog post.

  1. Under Blog, enter the name of the blog post and select it from the drop-down.

  2. Select Add block (Or Update if it’s a pre-existing block).

  3. Select state from the Change to: drop-down menu.

  4. Select Save layout.

Catalog teasers can be used to feature a specific Catalog on a page. The teaser displays the title, how many items the catalog contains, and the description. When selected, the teaser will bring users to the specific Catalog.

To create a Catalog, review the instructions on How to create a Catalog.

  1. Under Catalog, enter the name of the catalog and select it from the drop-down.

  2. Select Add block (Or Update if it’s a pre-existing block).

  3. Select state from the Change to: drop-down menu.

  4. Select Save layout.

Catalog item teasers can be used to a feature specific Catalog item on a page. The teaser displays the title and the summary. When selected, the teaser will bring users to the specific Catalog item.

To create a Catalog item, review the instructions on How to create a Catalog item.

  1. Under Catalog item, enter the name of the catalog item and select it from the drop-down.

  2. Select Add block (Or Update if it’s a pre-existing block).

  3. Select state from the Change to: drop-down menu.

  4. Select Save layout.

Contact teasers can be used to feature a specific Contact on a page. The teaser displays the name, position, contact information, groups, and the contact image if that option is selected. When selected, the teaser will bring users to the specific Contact.

To create a Contact, review the instructions on How to create a Contact.

  1. Under Show contact image, determine whether to display contact images or not. Note: The default selection is yes.

  2. Under Contact, enter the name of the contact and select it from the drop-down.

  3. Select Add block (Or Update if it’s a pre-existing block).

  4. Select state from the Change to: drop-down menu.

  5. Select Save layout.

Event teasers can be used to feature a specific Event on a page. The teaser displays the title, date, time, summary, as well as any audience terms and listing images. When an Event has passed, the teaser will still display but the date and time of the event will not appear. When clicked on, the teaser will bring users to the Event's page.

To create an Event, review the instructions on How to create an Event.

  1. Under Event, enter the name of the event and select it from the drop-down.

  2. Select Add block (Or Update if it’s a pre-existing block).

  3. Select state from the Change to: drop-down menu.

  4. Select Save layout.

News item teasers can be used to feature a specific News item on a page. The teaser displays the title, date, summary, as well as any audience terms and listing image if they have been added. When clicked on, the teaser will bring users to the specific News item's page.

To create a News item, review the instructions on How to create a News item.

  1. Under News item, enter the name of the news item and select it from the drop-down.

  2. Select Add block (Or Update if it’s a pre-existing block).

  3. Select state from the Change to: drop-down menu.

  4. Select Save layout.

Opportunity teasers can be used to feature a specific Opportunity on a page. The teaser displays the title, position summary, date posted, application deadline, and opportunity type. When selected, the teaser will bring users to the specific Opportunity's page.

To create an Opportunity, review the instructions on How to create an Opportunity.

  1. Under Opportunity, enter the name of the opportunity and select it from the drop-down.

  2. Select Add block (Or Update if it’s a pre-existing block).

  3. Select state from the Change to: drop-down menu.

  4. Select Save layout.

Profile teasers can be used to feature a specific Profile on a page. The teaser displays the name, position, summary, profile type, and the profile image if that option is selected. When selected, the teaser will bring users to the specific Profile's page.

To create an Profile, review the instructions on How to create a Profile.

  1. Under Show profile image, determine whether to display profile images or not. Note: The default selection is yes.

  2. Under Profile, enter the name of the profile and select it from the drop-down.

  3. Select Add block (Or Update if it’s a pre-existing block).

  4. Select state from the Change to: drop-down menu.

  5. Select Save layout.

Project teasers can be used to feature a specific Project on a page. The teaser displays the listing image, title, summary, and audience tags. When selected, the teaser will bring users to the specific Project's page.

To create a Project, review the instructions on How to create a Project.

  1. Under Project, enter the name of the project and select it from the drop-down.

  2. Select Add block (Or Update if it’s a pre-existing block).

  3. Select state from the Change to: drop-down menu.

  4. Select Save layout.

Publication reference teasers can be used to feature a specific Publication reference on a page. The teaser displays the Publication reference.

To create a Publication reference, review the instructions on How to create a Publication reference.

  1. Under Publication reference, enter the name of the publication reference and select it from the drop-down.

  2. Select Add block (Or Update if it’s a pre-existing block).

  3. Select state from the Change to: drop-down menu.

  4. Select Save layout.

Service teasers can be used to feature a specific Service on a page. The teaser displays the title and summary. When selected, the teaser will bring users to the specific Service's page.
