Templates

What are templates?

Templates allow you to save section layouts, including blocks and block contents, and easily add it to any content type (excluding Sidebars and Expand/collapse groups). This can be useful for multiple pages that follow the same formatting or even including the same content (e.g. related links, links to social media, etc.) on multiple pages.

Individual sections or an entire layout can be saved as templates.

Add template to library

Note: Only Site managers and Content editors can add sections to library.  

  1. From the administration bar, select Workbench, and then select My Dashboard. 

  2. Navigate to the Content list panel and select the content you would like to edit. 

  3. Select the Layout tab.

  4. Select +Add section. 

    1. Customize the section for your template.  

  5. If desired, select + Add block. 

    1. Select the block type and add content.  

    2. Repeat as needed.  

  6. If saving the individual section as a template:  

    1. Select Add to Library next to the Section label.

  7. If saving the entire layout as a template: 

    1. Repeat steps 4 and 5, as needed.  

    2. Navigate to the top of the Layout tab and select Add this template to library. 

  8. Enter a Label. 

  9. Upload an image. This will appear with the section label when importing a section from the Library. It is recommended to have this image reflect the section layout (e.g. a screenshot of the template).  

  10. Select Add section or Add template. 

Import from Library 

  1. From the administration bar, select Workbench, and then select My Dashboard. 

  2. Navigate to the Content list panel and select the content you would like to edit. 

  3. Select the Layout tab. 

  4. Select Import from Library next to + Add section.

  5. Select desired template from library.  

Access the Section library (Site managers only) 

  1. From the administration bar, select Workbench, and then select My Dashboard. 

  1. Under Site management menu, select Section library.

Edit a template (Site managers only)  

Note: The template itself cannot be edited. Only the Label, Image, Author, and Type can be changed.  

  1. From the administration bar, select Workbench, and then select My Dashboard. 

  1. Under Site management menu, select Section library. 

  1. Navigate to the template you wish to edit.   

  1. Select Edit.  

  1. As desired, edit Label, Image, Author, and/or Type. 

  1. Select Save.  

Delete a template (Site managers only)  

This only deletes the template from the Library - it will not remove any Layout content.

Note: This is a permanent action and cannot be undone. 

  1. From the administration bar, select Workbench, and then select My Dashboard. 

  1. Under Site management menu, select Section library. 

  1. In the drop-down menu next to Edit, select Delete.
