Waterloo Events

The Waterloo Events block allows for content from Waterloo Events to be highlighted on any content page.

Create a Waterloo Events block

  1. From the administration bar, select Workbench, then select My Dashboard.

  2. Navigate to the Content list and select the content you would like to edit.

  3. Select the Layout tab.

  4. Select + Add section, if applicable. 

  5. Select + Add block.

  6. Under Choose a block, navigate to Listing and select Waterloo Events.

  7. If desired, enter a title. By default, the block title is Waterloo Events. The title will appear as a block header if Display title is selected.

  8. Select Heading level.

    • Note: Headings must be used in sequence and cannot be skipped (i.e. H1, H2, H3, H2 and cannot be H1, H3, H5). Headings are necessary for accessible content.

  9. Under Add Waterloo Events items, paste the URL of the event from Waterloo Events.

    • Note: the URL must begin with “https://uwaterloo.ca/events/”.

  10. If desired, select Add Waterloo Events item and repeat step nine to add another Waterloo Events item. Leave a URL blank to remove it from the Waterloo Events block.

    • Note: Use the crosshairs icon to change the order of the Waterloo Events items.

  11. Under “View all” button select Show the “View all events” button, if applicable.

  12. Select Add block (or Update if it's a pre-existing block).

  13. Select state from the Change to: drop-down menu.

  14. Select Save layout.
