Google site ownership confirmation (WCMS 2)

How to add Google site ownership confirmation

 

Site Managers can add Google site ownership confirmation information to their site. This consists of three parts:

  1. Verifying your site.

  2. Finding your Google key string.

  3. Adding your Google key string into the WCMS.


Part one: Verifying your site

If your site has already been verified, proceed to Part two.

  1. Navigate and sign into Google Search Console.

  2. Click the Property selector drop-down.

  3. Select + Property.

  4. In the Add site URL field, type in the exact address of your site, and click Continue.

  5. Select Done.


Part two: Finding your Google key string

  1. Navigate and sign into Google Search Console.

  2. Click the Property selector drop-down, and select your site.

  3. Select HTML tag.

  4. From the HTML tag, copy (Ctrl+C) only the characters between the quotations.


Part three: Adding your Google key string into the WCMS

  1. From the Administration bar, click on Dashboard.

  2. Under Site Management, select Google Universal Analytics.

  3. Paste (Ctrl+V) the Google key string into the Google site ownership confirmation field.

  4. Select Submit.
