Add Google site ownership confirmation
Site owners can add Google site ownership confirmation information to their site.
If you have questions regarding Google Analytics, reach out to University Relations via their Google Analytics Help Portal.
Step 1: Verifying your site
Note: if your site has already been verified, proceed to Step 2.
Navigate and sign into the Google Search Console.
Select the Property selector drop-down.
Select + Property.
In the Add site URL field, type in the exact address of your site, and select Continue.
Select Done.
Step 2: Finding your Google key string
Navigate and sign into Google Search Console.
Select the Property selector drop-down and select your site.
Select HTML tag.
From the HTML tag, copy (Ctrl+C) the characters between the quotations. This is your key string.
Step 3: Adding your Google key string into the WCMS
From the administration bar, select Workbench, and then My Dashboard.
Under Site management menu, select Google Analytics and site ownership.
Paste (Ctrl+V) the Google key string into the Google site ownership confirmation field.
Select Save configuration.
