Notes for this Guide
This guide will need to be done in two parts first part to get a MAC address of your device and then after you have requested an exception for the device you will need to finish the setup.
Requirements:
Google Nest / Home Device
Tablet or smart phone with Google Home app installed.

Steps
Initial Setup for Google Nest / Home devices without Wi-Fi access
After initial startup the device will got to its own isolated Wi-Fi mode and on a tablet or phone you will see a Wi-Fi network like “NestMiniXXXX.ABC,”
Connect your tablet or phone to the wireless access point of your device “NestMiniXXXX.ABC,”
Open the Google home app and select Add a Google Nest or home device
Follow the setup and your tablet or phone will connect to the Google device for setup.
Once the setup reaches the Connect to Wi-Fi press the three dots and select the option “Show MAC address” - A windows will open showing the MAC address of the google device.
Once you have an exception created for your google device to connect to UniversityOfWaterloo wifi with full internet access you can continue the configuration in the Google Home app.
