Telephone sets/Voicemail quick reference guides

Telephone services deploys two types of phones on campus. Digital phones and IP Phones. Approximately 6,000 digital phones are still used on campus and about 1,500 IP phones.

Digital phones have a their own separate line and power and will continue working in a power outage. IP phones use the same lines as your computer and will stop working after about 30 minutes in a power outage or a network failure. Digital phones are quite robust in a campus environment.

All new buildings on campus use the IP 1140E IP phone. In residences we use the 1210 IP phone.

The remainder of campus uses digital phones. We have 2 models - the 2008 is an older model and will be phased out in the next few years. The 3903 is the more current model and our choice as the future standard on campus.
