Backup and data restoration

Backup and data restoration

About this service

The primary technology IST uses for server backups is Veeam Backup and Restore, designed to offer departments, system administrators, and faculty a reliable, high-performance, low-cost solution for backing up servers and workstations.  IST also uses a cloud repository as long-term storage to ensure reliable backups with exceptional longevity.

Subscription to the Veeam service requires a client to be installed on each server that needs to be backed up.

For backups of Microsoft Exchange or SQL Server installations, IST uses Microsoft Data Protection Manager (DPM).
