WebEx basic workflow
These materials are written for the classic view of Webex.
Log in to Webex before starting any task:
Go to uwaterloo.webex.com.
At the top right corner of the webpage, select Log in.
Sign in with your 8-character username (e.g. j25rober) and password.
Chrome, Safari and Edge provide the easiest connection
When users log into the WebEx standalone page, they will automatically be directed to the home page. The home page gives users direct access to their personal room that automatically comes with their host account.
Plugin installation
The first time you log into Webex, you will receive a notice to download and install the Webex-specific plugin. This plugin is required to host a meeting. If you do not get prompted to download the extension, follow the directions below:
Go to uwaterloo.webex.com/.
Select Webex Meetings from the top menu.
Select Downloads.
Select Cisco Webex Meetings Desktop App.
Select your operating machine.
Select Download.
Follow set up prompts.
Edit your profile
My Profile is located under My Webex. There are some settings you may access: view your profile, change your password, and edit preferences.
