Calendar - Student

The Calendar tool allows you to view course-related events. Instructors often add important dates specific to their course such as due dates, office hours or exam information.

Accessing the Calendar Tool

• To access the calendar tool from the system homepage, click Calendar in the navbar.

• To access the calendar from a course select the Calendar link in the widget on the course homepage.

Navigating the Calendar Tool

• Once you are in the Calendar Tool you can change the tabs along the top to view Calendar entries by Agenda, Day, Week, Month or List.

• By selecting the All Calendars link you will see calendars for all the courses you have access to as well as the option to remove a course calendar from your view.

• If you would like to remove a calendar from your view, click the All Calendars link and then click the x to remove the unwanted course Calendar.
  
  

Searching the Calendar Tool

1. Enter the event title into the search box located in the top right-hand corner.

2. Hit Enter or click the magnifying glass to perform the search.
   
   

3. All events matching the search field will be displayed in list view.

Syncing your Calendar to an external application

You can sync the Waterloo LEARN Calendar tool with an external calendar application using iCal feeds.

1. Select Calendar from the course navbar or from within a course.

2. Select Settings from the upper right hand corner.

3. Select the box beside Enable Calendar Feeds.

4. Click Save.

5. There will be a new option available labelled Subscribe. Click on Subscribe.
   
   

6. Select the Calendar you want to subscribe to from the Calendar Subscription drop-down menu. You can select All Calendars and Tasks, or the Calendar for a specific course.
   
   

7. Copy the URL provided and paste it into the external calendar tool.
