Finding a Computer's Name
Every computer managed by Health computing is assigned a unique name which provides information about the department that uses the computer and when it was purchased. To find this name there are a few places you can look.
Computer Off
Most computers will have a sticker from a label maker of the computer's name affixed to them allowing you to determine the computer’s name without turning it on.
Laptop
Generally, these stickers will be on the bottom of a laptop.
Here are some of the labels on laptops, notice in the image on the left the sticker is in a closed compartment.
If you can’t find the label on the bottom of the laptop you can check on the top of the lid or inside on the area below the keyboard.
Desktop
On a desktop computer there should also be a label maker sticker. Generally, this sticker is on the front of the computer or the top and it would look the same as those pictured above.
Computer On
With the computer powered on you can find the computer’s name in settings.
Open Settings by clicking the Windows key + I, or finding it in the apps.
When Settings opens you will see this at the top of the screen,
the bolded name is the computer name, in this case ahs87-p01.
