SAS Error: "Public access has been denied. Public users are not allowed to access this SAS application."

When attempting to sign in to the Faculty of Health SAS server, you get a message that “Public access has been denied. Public users are not allowed to access this SAS application” after entering your credentials.

There are two potential solutions for this error:

  1. You have an account on the server but have entered your userid with “@uwaterloo.ca”. The SAS server uses only the userid and will generate this error if you attempt to sign in with userid@uwaterloo.ca

  2. You don’t have an account on the SAS server. Contact hlthco@uwaterloo.ca to get an account.
