The instructions below describe how to remove devices such as Yubikeys, DUO tokens, or mobile phones from DUO using the Two Factor device management portal

For more information about device management for Two-Factor authentication (2FA) via DUO, please see the article DUO Device Management Instructions.

Please contact IST Service Desk if:

  • you are not able to log in to the device management portal

  • you have the lost device disabled, and need to have an alternate added. 

  • you only have one device associated with 2FA

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Go to https://2fa.uwaterloo.ca/duo/dmp

  2. Choose an authentication method to authenticate for DUO. After authentication, you will be redirected to the Device Management Portal

  3. Click on the Device Options button beside the device that you want to delete.


  4. Click on the trash can button to delete the device.

  5. Confirm that you wish this device to be deleted.

  6. The device has been successfully removed and you will be notified at the bottom of the Device Management Portal.
