Domestic-Undergrad
When are tuition fees posted? |
Student fee bills are posted on Quest approximately one month prior to the start of lectures each term. Students are notified at their university of waterloo e-mail address at that time. |
Where can I find the fees for my specific program? |
You can find the program fees for domestic students on our undergraduate fee schedules page for Canadian and permanent resident students. |
What are incidental fees? |
Please see our Incidental (non-tuition fees) page for additional information on incidental fees. |
Are undergraduate tuition fees for domestic students increasing for 2020/2021? |
No. In compliance with the Ontario government's most recent tuition framework, tuition rates for domestic students are set at 10% below the 2018/2019 rates. |
How are tuition fee increase decisions made? |
Tuition is evaluated and established annually to reflect the value of a Waterloo degree overall and in specific program areas. Several considerations are made including; |
•demand for Waterloo programs nationally and internationally, |
•alignment with similar programs offered at other universities, |
•changes to provincial policies, government funding, and international student recovery taxes, |
•and, institutional operating costs, inflation, and student services. |
Will I be charged additional course fees over 2.5 course units? |
Tuition is charged per course to the maximum per term fee indicated on our fees schedule page. There is no charge for additional courses or labs taken beyond a course weight of 2.5 units. |
How are these course fees assessed? |
With the exception of Engineering, Pharmacy and Optometry degree programs, fees are assessed for each 0.5-unit course, and prorated for other course credit weights. |
