International Refunds

I do not have a Canadian bank account. How do I receive a refund to my international bank?

I do not have a Canadian bank account. How do I receive a refund to my international bank?

If you are not in Canada and do not have Canadian bank account information to add to Quest, you can go to our SFS help portal with your name and student number to request an international refund for any refundable balance of $1000.00 CAD or more. If you have not uploaded banking information on Quest or emailed for an international refund by the third month of the term the remaining balance will apply to your next term.

Can the refund go to any bank account?

If you are being refunded for a credit on your Quest account and the international payment was made by another person, the payment has to be sent back to the original payor’s bank account. If you are being refunded for a scholarship that was posted on your account, you will be provided with instructions for sending the refund to your international bank account.

What currency is the money sent back in?

International refunds are sent in Canadian Dollars (CAD) so you may experience a foreign exchange loss or transaction fees from your bank on receipt of the international transfer.

How long does it take for my international refund to arrive?

The timing of the arrival of your refund will depend on several factors and will differ based on your bank and country. We encourage you to contact Student Financial Services to inquire about the status of your international refund.

Additional information:

Unlike our approved international payment methods, we do not have the ability to reverse payments made through third-party services to the original bank account. If you require a refund for an amount paid through an unapproved third-party payment platform, it is your responsibility to contact that company to have them request a payment reversal with the Canadian bank that facilitated the payment.
