Publication reference search

The Publication reference search block allows users to search through Publication references on a content page. For more information on the block, visit Publication reference search in our Block library.

Create a Publication reference search

  1. From the administration bar, select Workbench, then select My Dashboard.

  2. Navigate to the Content list and select the content you would like to edit.

  3. Select the Layout tab.

  4. Select + Add section, if applicable. 

  5. Select + Add block.

  6. Under Choose a block, navigate to Searches and select Publication reference search.

  7. If desired, enter a title. By default, the block title is Publication reference search. The title will appear as a block header if Display title is selected.

  8. Select Heading level.

    • Note: Headings must be used in sequence and cannot be skipped (i.e. H1, H2, H3, H2 and cannot be H1, H3, H5). Headings are necessary for accessible content.

  9. Optionally, under Settings, enter a Search Description and a Search Placeholder.

    • A Search Description appears underneath the search bar. Leave blank to have no description.

    • A Search Placeholder automatically appears in the search box. Leave blank to have no placeholder.

  10. Under Keywords, select an option from the drop-down.

    • All keywords: the search will include all reference keywords.

    • Specific keywords: the search will only include specific reference keywords. Note: This option is only available if you have created keywords.

      1. Select Keywords to restrict the search to.

  11. Under Type, select an option from the drop-down.

    • All types: the search will include all reference types.

    • Specific types: the search will only include specific reference types.

      1. Select Types to restrict the search to.

  12. Optionally, under Year, enter a year to restrict the search to. Leave blank to include all years.

  13. Under Sort, select how the search results will be sorted.

    1. Select a Sort by option from the drop-down.

    2. Select a Sort order option from the drop-down.

  14. Select Add block (Or Update if it is a pre-existing Block).

  15. Select desired state from the Change to: drop-down menu.

  16. Select Save layout.
