Goals

  • Discuss/review Fall Rover Design 2021 Timeline
    • By end of Fall, all design will be done (both drafts, one PDR, one CDR)
    • See timeline for more information
    • Each project/subteam has their own section on the timeline (e.g: gimbal, drivetrain, arm...)

  • Need to check with SKF for arm turntable bearing
    • They have a good offering but they size and mass isn't applicable to our bot, plans to look into it
    • Check into Kaydon Bearings
  • Fix mechanical issues with A2/A4

New Tasks

  • BLDC motor test rig
  • New mechanical training needs to be tested
  • Build code for arm prototype; hopefully by the end of next month, assigned Ali/Medina
  • Find someone to lead each mechanical project (science, ebox)
    • Science mechanism - ??
    • E-box mechanism - Olabisi
  • Need to check if the team codes for SOLIDWORKS work; they probably don't right now. As of right now, the MME codes are being used, but that cannot continue as non-MME students may need access as well
  • Need more storage bins in bay/better fastener organization;
    • Not enough places to put fasteners

General Notes

  • Former user (Deleted) is stepping down as drivetrain lead, Emily Adam will be taking over
  • For drivetrain prototype, code needs to be fleshed out soon, will happen w Emily Adam  and Former user (Deleted)  
      • Wiring will happen on site, testing will be done in Oakville
  • New training has been finished. Needs to be tested
  • Team is taking a small break; will come back to design sprints on September 1st
