Desktop rollover program

Eligible full-time staff members

• Replacement Desktop Rollover computers: DTR-Replacement form 

• New Desktop Rollover computers: DTR-New Machine form

• Other Desktop Rollover inquiries (e.g. eligibility): DTR-Other form

Setup of new desktop rollover workstations usually takes two working days depending on when the workstation is delivered to the client's office.

X-rollover computers repurposed as home workstations for staff can take up to 5 business days to configure.

Dell and Apple Desktop Rollover Program computers

• Replacement Desktop Rollover computers: DTR-Replacement form 

• New Desktop Rollover computers: DTR-New Machine form

Other Desktop Rollover inquiries (e.g. eligibility)

• Complete and submit the DTR-Other form.

To purchase a Dell computers (outside of the Desktop Rollover Program) with a Waterloo Purchasing Card (P-Card):

• Dell (Windows) computers:

  • Contact Terry Taylor to have an account created for purchasing from the Waterloo Dell Premier website.

• Apple computers:

  • On the Apple Store for Education Institution website you can set up an account which allows for configuring and saving carts and paying by P-Card.

    • After finding University of Waterloo on the Apple Store for Education Institution starting page, click on Register to set up an account.

    • Please contact Terry Taylor in Procurement and Contract Services for more information.

Computer imaging

To arrange for imaging of new academic support department computers:

• Ensure new computers are delivered to IST Workstation Services, East Campus 2 (EC2) room 114.

• Once a purchase order has been issued, submit this form, DTR-Other form with the following information:

  • Indicate it is a non-DTR computer

  • Details: department name, purchase order number, end user's full name, userid and room number, date required, and any special requirements

  • Attach a copy of the purchase order or order confirmation

For other inquiries, please complete the DTR-Other form. 

There is no charge for the standard Windows desktop workstation.
