How to access shared account in a browser - users with M365 email accounts
Opening the shared mailbox in a separate browser window or accessing the shared mailbox via browser directly
Use this method if you want to view and manage the email for the shared mailbox in its own browser window. Â
This method also lets you receive notifications of new items in the Inbox of the shared mailbox. Â
The sent messages are saved in the Shared Mailboxes’ Sent folder.Â
Log in to your account in Outlook on the web: https://outlook.office.comÂ
Click your initials at the top-right of the window. A drop-down list appears.Â
Click Open another mailbox.Â
Type the email address of the other mailbox that you want to open, and then click Open. Another Outlook on the web session opens in a separate window, allowing access to the other mailbox.Â

Use the following URL: https://outlook.office.com/mail/sharedaccount@uwaterloo.ca/, where sharedaccount is the username of the account,
Log in with your personal 8-character UWaterloo myuserna@uwaterloo.ca and password
To add the mailbox to your Outlook accountÂ
Adding the shared mailbox so it displays under your primary mailboxÂ
Use this method if you want to access the shared mailbox in your Outlook account directly. Â
The sent messages are saved in the primary (i.e. your private/own) mailboxÂ
you can move sent items to the correct folder by cutting and pasting or right-clicking and selecting move Â
Log in to microsoft365.com with your personal 8-character UWaterloo username @uwaterloo.ca (i.e. myuserna@uwaterloo.ca) and password. Then click on the Outlook icon from the left navigation panel.
2, Right-click Folders from the left navigation panel and then choose/click on Add shared folder from the menu presented.

3. Enter either the name of the shared mailbox or its username and click Add. In this example, the name of the shared mailbox is Shared Account and its username is sharenam@uwaterloo.ca.
(As you complete this field, a list of suggested account names will display. )
4. The account name will then appear in the list of mail folders/boxes:
