Printing - ECE-SHOP-COPIER

These instructions are for connecting to the printer/copier in the ECE Shop (E2-3349).

Windows
Connect to Printer - non-NEXUS computer
Open Settings.
Go to Devices → Printers & scanners.
Click the Add a printer or scanner button. Allow the computer a minute to scan for printers.
Click on the link for The printer that I want isn’t listed.
Select Add a printer using an IP address or hostname, then click the Next button.
For Device type: select IPP Device.
For Hostname or IP address: enter
172.18.3.126.The printer with driver should setup automatically and be called IPP Printer.
If you wish to re-name the printer,
Click on the Manage button for the IPP Printer queue.
Click on Printer properties.
Change the name at the top of the dialog box and click OK.
Connect to Printer - alternate instructions
Download the driver.
Download driver from Sharepoint: ECE Lab Instructors → Documents → General → IT Stuff → Printers → Driver - Windows - Ricoh - PCL6.exe
Run EXE file to unzip. By default, the files will be unzipped to the C:\temp folder.
Add printer.
Open Settings.
Go to Devices → Printers & scanners.
Click the Add a printer or scanner button. Allow the computer a minute to scan for printers.
Click on the link for The printer that I want isn’t listed.
Select Add a printer using an IP address or hostname, then click the Next button.
For Device type: select TCP/IP Device.
For Hostname or IP address: enter
172.18.3.126.For Port name: enter
172.18.3.126.Uncheck Query the printer and automatically select the driver to use.
Click the Next button and wait a minute for the completion of the TCP/IP search.
Select Custom and click the Settings… button.
Under Protocol, select LPR.
For Queue Name: enter
lp.Check LPR Byte Counting Enabled.
Click the OK button.
Click the Next button.
Click the Have Disk… button.
Click the Browse… button.
Click the This PC button and open the C:\Temp\Z0178L18\disk1 folder.
Click the Open button.
Click the OK button.
Scroll down and select Gestetner IM C400 PCL 6.
Click the Next button.
Click the Next button.
Select Do not share this printer and click the Next button.
Optional - click the Print a test page button to test the printer.
Click the Finish button.
Mac
Go to System Settings…
Select Printers and Scanners (usually at the bottom of the list).
Click Add Printer, Scanner, or Fax… button.
Click on IP button at top of the screen.
Enter
172.18.3.126in the Address: field.Click the Add button.
