Connecting to the eduroam network is essential for accessing secure Wi-Fi at educational institutions worldwide. Follow these steps to configure your Chromebook for eduroam:
Click on the wireless/network icon located in the bottom right corner of your screen, near the clock. This action will open the available networks menu.
From the list of available networks, click on “eduroam.”
Once the network configuration window appears, verify that the settings match the following:
EAP method: PEAP
EAP Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPv2
Server CA certificate: Default
Scroll down to reveal additional settings.
Enter your UWaterloo login credentials. Then, click OK. (Your username is your 8-character username, e.g. myuserna)
Username: username@uwaterloo.ca
Password: enter your passwordLeave all other fields and settings at their default values. Once you have filled in the necessary information, click "Connect."
After completing these steps, your Chromebook should be successfully connected to the eduroam network. If you encounter any issues, please check your credentials and ensure that you are within range of the eduroam signal.
