Goals

  • Get initial feedback on first draft CADs

CAD Spins

Chassis

Notes:

  • Current mass: 7.5 kg
  • Consider where to switch to a clamping mount around the CF tube instead of adhesive bonding
  • Consider where to bond to the outside of the tube VS the inside
    • Fear of inner mounts puncturing CF tube (i.e. at base of vertical CF stand)
  • Simplify mounting blocks to require less complex boring
  • Look for OTS clamp for rocker beam
  • Believe we're okay without a cross beam → aluminum surface plates should increase stiffness and resist torsional loads
  • Consider Gimbal routing (tongue) low priority

Suspension/Legs

Notes:

  • Don't use bolts for alignment, use just for clamping. Use steps and dowel holes to align critical pieces
    • Consider reamer sizes for fits needed VS boring bar

Emily Adam (Differential bar)

  • Order CF tubes this weekend!
    • Want mass data too
  • Get Melvin and Cindy's approval of encoders, expose to motors
  • Review money and weight budget frfr

Other Notes

  • Welded joints analysis →
  • Rotational ability on CF beam, if we want to use for rocker beam
    • Could add a steel sleeve to integrate into bushing? More work?
  • Review limits and fits (ISO), CAD naming scheme
  • Future of Automotive Body & Chassis, Steering, Suspension & Braking seminar, ~45 minute digital meeting

  • No labels
